ballet slippers and viola dreams

If you're going to dream, dream big

Yay! A Wednesday Rehearsal!

Heyoooooooooo. So my mom just reminded me that rehearsal tonight. SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I usualy dont go to dance during the week days because all my classes are on the weekend.
so bonus. The reason I have rehearsal tonight is because we’re working on a really big ballet. It’s called Coppelia. It’s about a woman who gets mad because her boyfriend falls in love with another girl, but the other girl turns out to be a doll. In the end, the girl and her boyfriend make up and get married.

I play a villager. At the beginning, all the villagers are celebrating because the harvest was really good. I dance around with a stalk of wheat. I also had to learn how to dance with a partner, because a lot of the dancing is folk dancing, and that’s done with boys and girls. I also have to learn how to jump really high. My ballet teacher tells me that boys are supposed to jump higher than girls, so I’m working on that.

Coppelia is a really funny ballet. We are performing it on March 10th and 11th at the MSUM theater. If anybody in the Fargo area wants to come see me dance, you can buy tickets at the MSUM box office. I hope to see you there!

Awh it’s Monday

Today is Monday. No nachos,no dance and no orchestra. And it’s snowing outside. The only thing I have to do is pet my cat and play my viola. I’m still pretty new at the viola, so I can’t practice too long. My teacher says it takes time to build up endurance. I try really hard, but I can only practice about 30 minutes before I get tired. I try practice a few more minutes every day. Right now, I’m learning how to play “Ode to Joy” and “Fiddler’s Hoedown” for my concert in March. My cat runs away every time I play, but that’s okay. He’ll get used to it.

My cat is named Booger. He’s really big and orange. We call him “Sir Bathmat” because when he lays on his back, he looks like a giant, furry bathmat. With ears. I also have another cat named Molly. That’s how my mom spells her name. I think it should be spelled “Mollie”, but mom says that’s how she spelled it, so I’m stuck with it.

I have to go now because I have early orchestra rehearsal tomorrow. I have to be at school an hour early. I don’t like waking up early, but I like rehearsal, so I guess that’s okay.

Best Day Ever

Hello world!

I’m back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So just got back from the best day ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

Do you want to know what it is.

If you read my earlier blog you would.

lights camera… okay i’ll just tell you.

Dance was all day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so not all day. I had to wait until 2, when my mom got home from work. Then it was time to get my dance stuff and go to the studio. Then the fun began. Jazz class was first. It starts at 2:50. Ballet class started at 4. I worked on chaînés turns and pirouettes. Chaînés are really fun. It’s when you do a whole bunch of turns in a row. Then we worked on adding a leap to an arabesque and pique combination. It was so fun! I love to jump!

( oh and I got NACHOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Hello, World!

NACHOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,my name is Stuart. I love to dance and play my viola. I also love nachos.

I am 10 years old and am in the 5th grade. When I grow up I want to be a ballet dancer. My favorite time of the week is when I get to go to ballet class. It’s a lot of work, but I still love it. I also play the viola. I just started this year, but I practice every day, and everybody says I’m getting better.

I just got the most exciting news of my life. I was accepted to a really cool summer camp, where I can dance and play my viola every day! I will also get to learn how to act, which is another thing I really like to do. It’s called the Interlochen Arts Camp. I’m super excited about it.
